have we gotten it all wrong?

maybe sometimes, we just dont know what's going on.

is it just our perspective thats warped?

or is it the world's?

or maybe its just everybody.

we miss the greater things in life.

we take the awesome for mundane.

or maybe, we dont miss those great things,

maybe we dont undervalue the awesome.
and maybe we just have the wrong focus even when we're aware of our folly.

i built another temple to a stranger,

gave away my heart to the rushing wind.

set my course to run right into danger,

sought the company of fools instead of friends.

trying to jump away from Rock that keeps on spreading,

solace in the shift of the sinking sand

rather feel the pain all too familiar

than be broken by a Lover i dont understand
