as the going gets tough,

when the going gets tough, the tough get going,
but the weak count their blessings THEN get going.

Abandoned and alone.

Magda from Poland trying to make a little boy laugh with a soft toy. its kind of scary how quiet the children's ward is. the kids dont cry, dont laugh, dont talk. they just sit quietly and watch us.. i dont know if this is the norm. but that atmosphere kinda disturbed me.

visited a hospital in Lae, PNG during my last E-day onboard. i learnt alot about being blessed, and how to be a blessing even though circumstances are just impossible. and i guess, i forgot some of those lessons when i came back. i wont now.

i met this guy, robert, who's originally from the highlands. he's got cancer of some sort, he's been in hospital for almost a year with zero visitors. just because his village cannot afford the 50Kinas it'll take for a one-way trip down to the hospital.

Point is: our troubles pale in comparison. so count your blessings and move forward.
