no one takes the time to stop and smell the flowers.
a flower-littered path. bright sunshiney yellow against the rich rusty red.
we dont see it. because, all that matters is that we're headed off from work.
from that place full of to-do lists under cool fluorescent lights.
to wherever our schedules have called us to next.
and we simply miss the little moments of beauty around us.
and yes, there are snippets of beauty here. i must admit, Singapore has its share of amazing light. like this golden sun at 7.40 in the morning...
but where does the value in beauty lie? especially in fleeting moments which are so easily overrun by the demands of the day, or shut out by fully-drawn blinds in the office? what good does it do to the soul then? how does a golden shaft of light preserve the beauty in us for more than five seconds?
or is life like this? moments pieced together with barely any effect?
i feel like, this happens to us spiritually as well. moments of praise, of feeling loved....
there is dissatisfaction.
even from the beauty i recognise here.
what happens then?
