oh, what will I do with you

some days, we miss the forest for the trees
but on others, we miss the leaves for the mountain.

there is growth, there is life.
yet sometimes you can still hear
a quiet, beaten sigh
just one tiny expression of unexplainable discouragement.
stand. still.
still. stand.

stand straight.
straight and still.
still and straight.
stand slouched.
slouched but still.
the Bible doesnt say how I stand,
but it says I have to stand still.

Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
Take your eyes off the trees, the forests, the leaves,
Leave your eyes fixed on your salvation
In the direction where your hope flows forth.
Because that is all that is asked of you
Just this one thing you gotta do
stand. still. and see.

Forget the waves, forget the breeze
stand silent and just breathe.
let His love overcome your insecurities,
your failures dont matter in light of His greatness,
settle the internal chaos with one verse.
a promise of deliverance,
a demand for obedience.

Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. Exodus 14:13

so, dear soul,
its time to stand.
no need to grow,
just stand.
and stand still.
