the delta.

i miss the silence of the delta. the space of africa.
its been a crazy week. and its actually being made worse by my lack of efficiency.
and my pictures are sadly rotting away in the recesses of my computer.
this picture characterises the delta more aptly,
the watery paths framed by tall reeds and sheltered by impossibly blue skies,
occupied by leviathans and other beasts, basking in the peaceful chaos of nature.
but i like this picture better:

i think its the almost-maroon lotus leaves that contrast with the blue waters and the warm light on my mokoro. and of course, the dead tree and its reflection. its in pools like these where hippos laze and, occasionally, attack mokoros just for the fun of it. the guides are extremely careful when crossing these pools. they normally slow down and move really quietly along the sides of the pool. haha. but thats africa for you. the peaceful setting with a tinge of adventure. (:

I like the first picture better because of the green rushes and the boat looks really comfortable like a nest there :)

It's strange how a place endears itself so much more after we've left it...

yah! the first one's more aesthetically pleasing! it did feel like a nest.

warped memories. heh. but botswana amazed me.
