have you ever

we'll play a game of have you ever
and turn it around to ask, have you never

have you ever been on the brink of something new?
never sure of what you've got to do?
felt a little scared, and a little like a fool?

have you ever felt like your heart was bursting?
with ideas and fears and dreams
but you cannot understand what they mean?

have you ever gone so far as to say,
Lord, do it your way
and then back out on those words,
the very next day?

have you never seen so many roads and possibilities
and wonder if your dreams were hidden in one of these?
or maybe been you've been set free,
given the choice to choose the life you want to live,
but your thoughts are scrambling like headless geese
and you wish, someone could just choose for you, please.

what would i tell someone like me?
how would i advise someone to just, be?
it sounds just way too easy,
but truth, to us, is usually a little crazy.

there are things i must give.
in order that i truly live,
His work is always active,
but the scope, is massive.
and yes, the brief -
was written in less than a minte

so again I ask,
have you ever known a love so true
that shows how vast His love is for you?
and have you never felt love in truth
feeling it sting then soothe?

what can i tell someone like me?
how should i advise someone to just, be?
