gratefulness, age and death

death comes to our door
whether or not we've believed
or called it just mere folklore.
it draws us in
to the questions that matter
only those questions
deep within.

your philosophy
selfless and full of generosity
yet lacking the one truth
that will usher you into eternity

what can i say
how can i live
such that you would believe?

today my heart aches
because, in all of your wisdom,
there is folly.
in the age difference,
our faiths reside
in separate entities.

the blindness that has yet to go
shields you from all He has to show
i can only pray that one day you would know
truly know -
the seas you love,
were created by a God who filled those troughs
and the morals of worth
are belts that line His girth.

it has been a long time
since i've wished so hard
that You'd help someone find
the true knowledge of the Lord.

I prayed,
today,
that one day
you would lay
these burdens away
demolish those feet of clay
and live amidst the fray
of a faith,
unswayed.
and i wish,
you would never have to see
that dear friend on a tray.
and i wait
for the day,
you'll be welcomed into
the white pearly gates,
not turned away.
